Centennial Statue

Centennial Statue

Central figure on Hodgenville’s historic Lincoln Square, the statue was created by noted New York sculptor Adolph A. Weinman and placed on the square in 1909 to honor the Centennial of Lincoln’s birth.  Originally, the responsibility for care of the statue fell to a group of local women, the Ladies Lincoln League; today, the statue is maintained through the civic efforts of the Hodgenville Rotary club.

Boy Lincoln Sculpture

Commissioned by the City of Hodgenville and dedicated in May 2008 with funding provided by the Kentucky Historical Society and the Kentucky Lincoln Bicentennial Commission. The California based artist-sculptures of Daub, Firmin and Henderickson were the finalist of a competition of some 70 submissions nationally and several foreign countries.

The artist depict young Abe with his dog Honey, at age seven years-six months, about the age young Lincoln would have been just prior to the Lincoln family move to Indiana.
